About St. James Catholic School

Religious education is an on going process by which we all gradually mature in our faith--a faith that we strive to make vibrant, conscious, and active. At Saint James, we feel privileged to work with parents who are the primary educators in the spiritual formation of their children.

Cheerleading

If you have school spirit than you are perfect for this group! The cheer team is open to ALL students at St. James, grades TK through 8th. The cheerleading squads participate in local city parades and various school activities and events. Our cheerleaders also travel to Notre Dame High School and Aquinas High School to cheer for the school's sports teams throughout the school year. Go Irish!

Choir

The St. James Catholic School Choir is open to students in grades 2nd to 8th. These students meet after school once per week to prepare for the weekly school liturgy. The school hosts the 11am parish Mass once per month, and the school choir is also invited to sing during these celebrations.

St. Therese Little Flower Girls & Mother Mary's Little Honor Guard

Young ladies and gentlemen in grades 1st through 5th may join these clubs to learn more about Catholic virtues through the lives of Catholic Saints, Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The activities they share together will focus on love of God, faith, hope, respect, work, self-control, humility, and justice. Students will participate in different activities that help them to explore different aspects of their Catholic Identity.

Student Council

Saint James Catholic School has a system of student government whereby student commissioners from 5th through  8th  grades are elected by the student body to perform a variety of responsible functions. This enables students to experience leadership and citizenship opportunities. A staff member acts as coordinator for the program. A student’s continued participation on the Student Council is at the discretion of the administration.
